Beatin up the Winkies

Okay, now before your parents start yelling at me, I'm not lying if you can't remember the guys who guard the wicked Witches castle were called Winkies

from The Wizard of Oz from "A" to "Z" site:

The Winkies stood guard over the Witches Castle. They are outfitted in towering helmets, long coats, and carry big spears. As they march around the Witches Castle they chant, "O--Ee--Yah! Eoh--Ah!" When we first see them they give the impression of being totally loyal to her, but we learn differently after Dorothy melts the Wicked Witch of the West. The leader of the Winkies immediately says, "Hail to Dorothy! The Wicked Witch is dead!" And, they are most eager to allow Dorothy to have the broomstick of the Wicked Witch of the West so she can take it to the Wizard of Oz.

Anyway this picture has a long story to it I drew the skeleton for it over a year ago, but never got around to penciling it. Though recently an artist on Deviantart drew based off my idea what they thought that the other characters I had yet to present looked like. I can't find the picture otherwise I'd love to link you to it. But I digress. They weren't exactly how I envisioned so I figured I should show how I pictured them. I dug up my old conceptual drawings of Ulrich and Odd's Wizard of Oz forms and finally penciled the old drawing.
I always liked the scene when the Scarecrow, the Tinman and the Lion beat the snot out of the Winkies and then steal their clothing. I think I might have had Brave Heart in mind when I drew this even though I've never seen the movie. The guys and their dog too are pissed and want to rescue "Dorothy."
